Meals on Wheels and Congregate Meals Programs
At Age Well Senior Services, we’re doing our best to make sure no senior citizen in need goes hungry by operating our vital nutrition programs–Meals on Wheels and the Congregate Lunch. Annually, we deliver over 300,000 nutritious meals to seniors who are living at home and unable to prepare their own meals or go out to eat, and have little or no assistance to obtain adequate meals.
"I am so very thankful for MOW and Age Well for the wonderful meals they provided before the holidays. Thank you also to Homestead for the wonderful gifts I received. I have five children and none of them made time to visit me over the holidays. You all are so wonderful and I very much appreciate all that you do for me. I look forward to receiving my food and having conversation with the volunteers. I appreciate you checking in on me to be sure I am okay especially since you are the only people who care enough to do that. I hope you never stop doing what you do because you are all I have."
– AJ, Meals-On-Wheels recipient
Designed by a Registered Dietitian, each delivery consists of a hot, ready-to-eat meal, a cold meal to eat later in the day, and a breakfast meal for the following morning. Volunteers deliver meals Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM. We do not provide weekend or Holiday meals.
To complement Meals on Wheels and to facilitate socialization, Age Well Senior Services also serves hot, nutritional lunches for active older adults Monday through Friday at 10 senior centers in South Orange County. Seniors enjoy over 83,000 lunches each year, while dining with their friends at senior centers. For a complete listing of the centers where congregate meals are available, see below.
